VBODA District 4 Band Festival Schedule has been released


Hickory’s Concert Band will perform again at our district’s band festival for an evaluation.  The following groups will perform on the following days.


Concert Band A Day:  Thursday, March 11th

9:00pm


Concert Band B Day:  Friday, March 12th

8:45pm


Symphonic Band:  Saturday, March 13th

2:50pm


Wind Ensemble:  Saturday, March 13th

5:15

All 2009-2010 Hickory Band students should enroll for their cooperating Smartmusic Impact Classes.

  3. 3.Click “Enroll for Class”

  4. 4.Answer the asked questions.  Note:  Marching Hawks will be found under Mr. Phillips’ classes.

Percussion Ensemble Powhatan Results


Congratulations to Hickory High School’s Percussion Ensemble for placing first in their class at this weekends WGI Regional Competition.  The ensemble took first at both prelims and finals, and are looking forward to their next show at AIA Championships.

Unofficial All-Virginia Band Results


Congratulations to Brad Williams (Percussion), Chris Livernois (Percussion), Olivia Sturgill (Trumpet), and David Munro (Oboe) for making this year’s All-Virginia Band. 

Another congratulations goes out to Meg Rice (Piccolo) for placing as first alternate.


We are so proud of you and all of our other hawks that auditioned.


Spring Trip News!


The Band Programs spring trip to Atlanta Georgia has been approved!  Information will be coming home through the band students.  The first deposit of $150 is being accepted now.

Hickory Performance Ensemble Places 4th in Raleigh


The Hickory Performance Ensemble took fourth in their class at Wakefield High School’s AIA competition.  We are proud of your accomplishments, and wish you good luck at AIA Championships.
